Gaastra is located in Iron County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are 10 minutes away from Ski Brule and multiple recreational lakes including Chicagon Lake and Stanley Lake.

Blight and Unlicensed Vehicles
April 8, 2025
Attention Gaastra City Residents:
Now that the snow is starting to melt, please check & clean yards of blight issues and unlicensed vehicles.
Blight cannot be visible from the road & all unlicensed vehicles must be covered completely to the ground.
In the next few weeks, blight & unlicensed vehicle warnings will be issued where necessary. There will be a 10 day period to rectify the complaints, after that fines will start to be imposed.
