GFL Environmental Curbside Garbage Collection Guidelines

Collection Schedule

Garbage is collected weekly using the provided GFL cart on your regularly scheduled collection day.

Place your cart at the curb:

• • The night before collection, or
  • Before 7:00 AM on your scheduled collection day.

Cart Placement Rules

To ensure your garbage is collected, please follow these placement requirements:

• Place the GFL garbage cart within 3 feet of the curb or street.
• Position the cart on one side of the driveway.
• Leave at least 3 feet of clearance between the cart and any fixed object, including: Parked cars, mailboxes, utility poles, and carts.

The handles and wheels must face away from the street.

If the trash cart is restricted and/or imporperly placed, it will remain unserviceable, due to servicing as an automate route.

Garbage Preparation Requirements

• All items must be bagged and placed in the cart in order to be collected. Material that is placed outside of the cart will not be colloected.
• Non-GFL carts, such as bins, barrels, or other plastic containers, will not be serviced with automated collection.

Approved Containers

• Only the provided GFL cart may be used for automated collection.
• Non-GFL carts, bins, barrels, or other plastic containers will not be serviced.

Holiday Schedule

There will be no garbage collection on the following holidays:

• New Year's Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

When a holiday occurs during the collection week:

• There will be no pickup on the holiday.
• All collection routes will be delayed by one day following the holiday.
